1. Applied Mathematics & Lofting
Students measure coordinate grid baselines at 150mm increments, plot curves, lay out centrelines, and accurately mark 16 internal frame positions directly onto marine plywood sheets.
2. Precision Assembly & Joinery
Students cut hull panels, join sections using pressure gluing with butt blocks, stitch components together using copper wire, and align double timber stringers across internal frames.
3. Advanced Composites & Workshop Safety
Students safely apply PPE while mixing two-part epoxy resin with filleting powder to build internal structural joints, followed by laying and wetting-out 16m of fibreglass tape.
4. Surface Fairing & Custom Outfitting
Students perform progressive surface sanding (120 to 240 grit), apply marine varnish coats, drill depth-controlled holes for leash plugs, and fit carry handles, fins, and EVA deck pads.
